Codger Supreme, this one surprised me. This is not a Prince Albert or a Sir Walter Raleigh type of tobacco, no no, it’s much more complex than the typical OTC style American Codger blend. This has body, taste, aroma and a significant amount of nicotine. This seems like something that was smoked in the 1940s up to the 1960s before all the candy coated and bakery cakes and cookies type of pipe tobaccos. This is an old fashioned beautifully created pipe tobacco. I absolutely love it. The Dark fired Kentucky Burley is such a nice touch and gives this tobacco body and character along with the welcomed sedative nicotine hit. If you are a little concerned of the cost per ounce, I can assure you these Hampton House blends are WELL worth every penny. The blender Joe doesn’t skip on the quality of the leaf or the flavoring ingredients. The process of his mad science of infusing the flavorings instead of dumping toppings on the cured tobacco is in its own right genius! The flavorings which are high grade products enhance the tobacco taste, not mask it or change it into a sloppy mess of wet leaves. I am definitely buying more of this for my cellar. Thank you Joe Hampton for an amazing pipe tobacco!
